What Does Apple’s iOS 5 Have in Store?

Over the past weekend, a beta version of Apple’s new operating system was released to developers. Thus far, iOS 5 seems to contain mostly bug fixes although a few features have been brought out into the open.

We can expect Steve Jobs and his team to announce soon that iOS 5 will be available this fall. This is known because Apple has a habit of releasing the beta version a couple of weeks prior to the announcement of its availability. However, there is a distinct possibility that one or two more beta versions will be released prior to iOS 5 being available to the general public as this is something Apply typically does. We’ll just have to wait and see if that does indeed occur.

There are rumors that iOS 5 will feature voice recognition. The rumors are most likely true because Google is already a step ahead of Apple in that department as Android users can already “tell” their phones to call someone. It is possible that Apple will also develop voice search for the iOS 5 as it purchased Siri a few month back which is a software maker that specializes in voice-driven search.

The new iOS 5 also will feature a hearing aide mode which will improve the compatibility between the various Apple devices and hearing aides. The beta also suggests that the company is working on its next iPad due to some rather obscure features designed for touch capabilities.
