On Tuesday, gold futures traded down, that is in nearly four weeks low, with traders hooked on the possibility that the FED will give some clue on, that it is ready to slow the flow of monetary stimulus.

For August delivery gold plunged 1.2%, to $1,366 an ounce in recent trade ahead of Fed policy makers prepared to start a two-day monetary-policy meeting. According to FactSet, gold traded as low as $1,360.20, and it is the most lowest level for a most-active futures contract since May 23.

Today market is influenced by a mixed economic data with no clear policy of Federal Reserve. U.S dollar weighs stronger versus weak prices of gold, precious metal prices becoming more expensive for nondollar buyers.

Among the decliners in gold miners are Barrick Gold Corporation (USA) (NYSE:ABX) share were down -3.04%. Kinross Gold Corporation (USA) (NYSE:KGC) share were off -2.21%. Goldcorp Inc. (USA) (NYSE:GG) shares retreated -2.70%. IAMGOLD Corp (USA) (NYSE:IAG) shares were down -3.05%.

Eldorado Gold Corp (USA) (NYSE:EGO) share plummeted -3.27%. Harmony Gold Mining Co. (ADR) (NYSE:HMY) share declined -2.13%. New Gold Inc. (USA) (NYSEMKT:NGD) shares shed -0.89%.

On Tuesday, financial stocks went up following the most anticipated Federal Reserve‘s policy meeting and Chairman Ben Bernanke’s press conference. Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund that follows the financial stocks in the S&P 500 was up 0.4%.

Bank of America Corp (NYSE:BAC) shares were up 0.4%, and Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C) gained 1%. Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) shares went up 0.23%, Barclays PLC (ADR) (NYSE:BCS) share were up 1.24%, HSBC Holdings plc (ADR) (NYSE:HBC) shares edged up 1.32%.

In banking stocks only Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (NYSE:GS) shares were down -0.14%.

It has been reported by WSJ that Former UBS AG and Citigroup trader Tom Hayes was charged with allegedly trying to manipulate the London Libor (inter-market offered rate) by U.K authorities.

Investors are looking on any clue on Federal Reserve‘s plans to slow those bond purchases and signs of when interest rates will be increased. The increase in interest rates could have a rallying effect on banking stocks; the higher interest rates could boost banking earnings.

It was indicated by Bernanke in May, that the central bank could scale back the bond purchasing, if the U.S economy recovers.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM) asset management division has announced today, that it will start disclosing daily and weekly liquid assets online on each business day, starting from Tuesday.

NASA Announces Asteroid Grand Challenge

WASHINGTON -18 June, 2013- (PR Carbon) -- NASA announced Tuesday a Grand Challenge focused on 
finding all asteroid threats to human populations and knowing what to 
do about them. 

The challenge, which was announced at an asteroid initiative industry 
and partner day at NASA Headquarters in Washington, is a large-scale 
effort that will use multi-disciplinary collaborations and a variety 
of partnerships with other government agencies, international 
partners, industry, academia, and citizen scientists. It complements 
NASA's recently announced mission to redirect an asteroid and send 
humans to study it. 

"NASA already is working to find asteroids that might be a threat to 
our planet, and while we have found 95 percent of the large asteroids 
near the Earth's orbit, we need to find all those that might be a 
threat to Earth," said NASA Deputy Administrator Lori Garver. "This 
Grand Challenge is focused on detecting and characterizing asteroids 
and learning how to deal with potential threats. We will also harness 
public engagement, open innovation and citizen science to help solve 
this global problem." 

Grand Challenges are ambitious goals on a national or global scale 
that capture the imagination and demand advances in innovation and 
breakthroughs in science and technology. They are an important 
element of President Obama's Strategy for American Innovation. 

"I applaud NASA for issuing this Grand Challenge because finding 
asteroid threats, and having a plan for dealing with them, needs to 
be an all-hands-on-deck effort," said Tom Kalil, deputy director for 
technology and innovation at the White House Office of Science and 
Technology Policy. "The efforts of private-sector partners and our 
citizen scientists will augment the work NASA already is doing to 
improve near-Earth object detection capabilities." 

NASA also released a request for information (RFI) that invites 
industry and potential partners to offer ideas on accomplishing 
NASA's goal to locate, redirect, and explore an asteroid, as well as 
find and plan for asteroid threats. The RFI is open for 30 days, and 
responses will be used to help develop public engagement 
opportunities and a September industry workshop.

Navigation and Connected Services

Garmin Ltd. Media Integration

Boeing, Korean Air Announce Commitment to Purchase 11 Twin-Aisle Airplanes

LE BOURGET, France, June 18, 2013 (PR Carbon) — The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) and Korean Air today announced that the airline has agreed to purchase five 747-8 Intercontinental airplanes and six 777-300ER (Extended Range) jetliners, valued at approximately $3.6 billion at current list prices. Boeing will work with Korean Air to finalize the order, at which time the order will be posted to Boeing’s Orders & Deliveries website.

“Korean Air is a valued Boeing customer and their commitment to add more Boeing (NYSE:BA) twin-aisle airplanes to their fleet demonstrates our strong partnership,” said Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Ray Conner. “Korean Air has steadily built its reputation as an early adopter of new technology and innovation and Boeing airplanes have played an instrumental role in that strategy.”

Korean Air is the only airline in the world to order both the passenger and freighter variations of the 747-8. When today’s order is finalized, Korea’s flag carrier will have 10 747-8 Intercontinental airplanes on order. The airline has taken delivery of three of its seven 747-8 Freighters on order.

Korean Air currently operates a fleet of 90 Boeing passenger airplanes that consist of 737, 747 and 777 airplanes. The airline also operates an all-Boeing cargo fleet of 27 747-400, 747-8 and 777 Freighters. In February 2012, Korean Air became the first airline in the world to operate both the 747-8 and 777 Freighters.

“The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) shares a unique relationship with Korean Air—both as a customer and a supplier for Boeing,” said Conner. “Our partnership is built upon trust and is multifaceted, which brings us closer on many levels.”
